With a seating capacity of around 580–600 seats, the Brauntex now hosts a wide variety of live events—musicals, concerts, dance recitals, comedy shows, film screenings, and community gatherings. The city and regional arts organizations have supported ongoing upgrades, including a $1.2 million grant in 2022 for state-of-the-art sound, lighting, video wall, and stage improvements.
In 2008, the Brauntex was added to the National Register of Historic Places, affirming its architectural and cultural significance.
Today, the Brauntex stands as a cultural cornerstone of New Braunfels—an intimate, beautifully restored Art Deco gem that enriches the local arts scene and preserves a beloved piece of the city’s heritage.
